Step 11: Filter Your Intake I’m sure you’ve heard the age old saying, “you are what you eat”. Well, the same goes for what you visually, mentally, and spiritually ingest as well. On an almost continuous basis we are all being bombarded with countless scores of information, ideas, personalities, and whatever else… all of which influence the way we behave and live out our daily lives. As I mentioned in Step Ten, we reflect what we surround ourselves with. So in creating a blissful life for yourself, why carry anything through your life that doesn’t support that which you want to create? Negative people, bad habits, questionable reality tv shows, internet sites that perpetuate hate, violence, discrimination, blame, or idle gossip… are all things that effect our well-being. So let’s get clean! And I mean that both figuratively and literally. Let’s clean up: Our moods and bad habits – health wise, personality wise, and how we treat other people; Our media intake – avoiding gossip/tabloid television, mindless ‘reality’ tv shows, etc.; Our friend pools – …
